Tool room designer has to interpret the customer requirement of tools and simulate the same using 3D and 2D drawings through various computer aided design tools to create a graphical model on exact specifications for the manufacturing of Tool and Die.  After completion of training our placement cell will provide job opportunity in Manufacturing Company/Unit.

  1. Industrial Working environment awareness and knowledge

  3. System, machine, mechanism knowledge
  4. IMTE (Inspection, measuring and test equipment) knowledge
  5. Health Safety Environment (HSE)- 5S, PPE, Fire & Safety and First- Aid Knowledge
  6. Lean Manufacturing Technology (Poka-Yoke, Kaizen)
  7. Engineering/Industrial documentation and standards (SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP,7QC)
  8. Industrial/Engineering drawing study
  9. Motivation, Behavioral and communication skills
  10. Inter departmental activities
  11. Practical exposer and real time On-Job-Training (OJT)
  12. Understand various dimensional mismatches which may happen on the actual product assembly
  13. Information systems like SAP, ERP etc.
  14. Usage of various business correspondence tools like email, MS office tools (word, excel, power point) etc.
  • Domain Training Content-
  1. Understanding the process, process parameters and equipment requirements
  2. Relevant standards and procedures followed in the company
  3. Different types of products manufactured by the company
  4. Key customers of the organization and their products
  5. How to visualize the final product output and conduct quality verification tests
  6. Different types of designing processes and associated software like AutoCAD, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks
  7. 3D modelling, simulation,2D drawings
  8. Knowledge of the manufacturing process in which the final tool & die will be used
  9. The raw material to be used for the tool & die designing process – raw material quantity, quality and raw material properties
  10. How to interpret Tolerance Analysis sheet supplied by the customer
  11. How to use Tool Design Handbook.

Objective

The individual should be detailed oriented, observant; should be good in computing skills and analysis. The individual should be able to visualize the final output, should be creative in designing components and parts for the tools and die and be able to communicate well with the customers (internal and external). Should have a good vision and should not be color blind.
